Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, head of Islamic Seminaries in Iran sent a letter to Sheikh Muneeb ur-Rehman, to collaborate in case of Corona-Virus spread:
Dear Maulana Sheikh Muneeb ur-Rehman
The Honorable President of Tanzeem-ul-Madaris
Assalamu Alaikum va Rahmatollah
In the days when the unfortunate incident of spreading the Corona-virus has caused suffering and misery to countries and nations and has caused grief to religious scholars, organizations and centers, His Excellency's message of condemnation of the US sanctions against Islamic Republic of Iran, which even refuses to send drugs to the Iranian nation, was appreciated and shows the courage, Islamic brotherhood of His Excellency and the sympathy of Pakistani scholars and the insight of the Islamic world.
Natural disasters in the logic of the heavenly religions are warning phenomena for the human test, the basis for human evolution and excellence, the source of insight into the origin and resurrection, an opportunity to measure and manifest human and social qualities and the flourishing of the spirit of empathy, self-devotion, and sacrifice of human society.
Following the leadership of the Supreme Leader and the great authorities, the seminary of Qom has based its confrontation in this crisis on expert opinions and scientific and health recommendations, correct, rational and wise explanation of diseases, avoiding unrealistic bipolarity of science and religion, development research on the treatment of social harms and problems, the continuation of social and economic enthusiasm, strengthening social solidarity and strengthening hope, determination, will, calmness, kindness, and creativity in society, consolidating the foundations of faith and paying attention to the need to cultivate the soul and protect society From anomalies and pollutions as well as attention to the eternal power of God Almighty and taking care of prayer and supplication before God.
The Shia clergy have always stood by their devotion and covenant with God and the Holy Prophet of Islam, peace, and blessings of God be upon him, and his holy family, and honoring and bowing to their sincere and devoted companions and followers, and serving humanity.
With Divine grace, these days, despite the harsh sanctions, the Islamic Republic of Iran is witnessing indescribable manifestations of voluntary movements and cooperation between the government and the people of all groups, religions, nurses, doctors, medical staff, youth, students and elites, clerics, seminaries, religious scholars, and relief youth, and we are proud of this heavenly bond.
Unfortunately, in these difficult times for all Islamic nations, especially the Iranian people, global arrogances have tightened the circle of sanctions on the Iranian nation. However, we hope by relying on the divine realm and appeal to the holy spirits of the Holy Prophet of Islam and his Household, and relying on the power, will and Islamic faith, empathy and cooperation of all Islamic scholars and Ummah in condemning these oppressive sanctions, we can overcome this difficult scene successfully, dearly and with comfort.
I need to say that the seminaries of Iran and the religious centers are determined not to stop scientific, educational and training systems of the seminary due to these events, and to use all tools and technologies, especially new methods such as cyberspace in order to continue the dynamism of the seminaries.
The seminary is trying to realize the principle of recreating the seminary in cyberspace and is moving forward in this direction.
In the end, I ask God Almighty to protect the Islamic countries and the Muslim elites and scholars, as well as the scientific and religious centers and assemblies, especially the two great Islamic countries of Pakistan and Iran, from all earthly and celestial disasters.
I take this opportunity to reiterate the readiness of the seminaries of Iran to communicate and cooperate with the Tanzeem-ul-Madaris Union and the related collections.
Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings.
Alireza Arafi
The Head of Islamic Seminaries in Iran
